About Me:

Stefan Weiner has lived in NYC since 2009. Outside of StoryCorps, he is an indie folk singer-songwriter and a commercial vocalist. He also loves to cook, bake, and shake up a mean cocktail!

What is your role and how long have you been in this position?

I’m the Office Specialist at StoryCorps and I’ve been here for a little over a year.

What does your job entail?

I am the IT liaison for the organization and I assist the staff with anything having to do with supplies, shipping, and logistics. I also moonlight in the Production department and have co-produced a number of spots including Honey, You’ve Got a Terrific Nose, Transcending Blindness, and Seeing the Way.

What are the rewards of your job?

Getting to work with great people and touch so many parts of the organization.

What are the challenges of your job?

Juggling lots of different projects and staying organized.

Why should everyone record a story with StoryCorps?

You don’t know when someone close to you will be gone. Having their voice recorded after they pass is essential to the grieving process. Also, when you record a conversation, you’re also adding to the broader story of America.

What’s your favorite StoryCorps story?

One of my favorite stories from the past year is That Moment was Love because it’s action packed, but also full of love and laughter.”
