Honorees

The Honorable William “Bill” Bradley, Managing Director at Allen & Company and emeritus StoryCorps Board Member, who previously served in the U.S. Senate representing New Jersey and played basketball for the New York Knicks.

Margo Georgiadis, CEO of Ancestry.com.

Dr. Carla Hayden, the 14th Librarian of Congress, who, as the CEO of Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore, courageously kept the library open during the protests that erupted in 2015.

The 2018 StoryCorps Courage Award

This annual award is a special recognition of a StoryCorps participant who has overcome extraordinary circumstances. This year’s award will be presented to writer Sook Nyul Choi, whose novels, based on her experiences as a young refugee during the Korean War, have enriched the lives of young people all over the world.
