Reflecting on Stories of Displacement, Hunger, and Hope with Feeding America

StoryCorps and Feeding America partnered to share stories of hidden hunger six months after the devastation that swept through Houston, Texas in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

What we provided

• Onsite recording days at West Houston Assistance Ministries’ Food Pantry and the Emergency Pantry at the Houston Food Bank
• Custom-produced audio stories and animations

Outcomes

• Recorded 10+ conversations between pantry clients
• Delivered all full-length released recorded conversations to Feeding America
• Archived and preserved all released conversations at the Library of Congress
• Produced four stories for Feeding America
• Produced two animations, based on the produced stories, for Feeding America
