Donate now to preserve the stories all around us.
Since StoryCorps began in 2003, we have recorded, preserved, and shared tens of thousands of unique American stories — told by people, sitting down face-to-face or remotely, to have the conversation of a lifetime face-to-face or remotely. These intimate moments capture our varied, and shared human history, and create a bridge of connection to those around us.
For those that sit down to have a meaningful conversation preserved, the experience is often transformative. The same is true for those that listen.

“Listening to StoryCorps’ stories makes me smile, cry, laugh, ponder, reflect, think. Most importantly, I feel hopeful when I listen to StoryCorps…
Like all good public services, we can’t sit back and wait for someone else to pitch in. We all have to pitch in.”

Preserving stories from our time in America
Each story told reflects a distinct experience in America and brings into focus our common ground. StoryCorps initiatives aim to document stories of our history to ensure they’re preserved, including stories of Black, Latinx, refugee communities, and more. Every story is archived at the Library of Congress to ensure it’s available for generations to come.
The transformative act of telling stories — and listening — helps bring us closer together. StoryCorps helps record and preserve stories of life in America. Your gift will enable us to keep creating opportunities for connection. Donate to StoryCorps today to support this work.
StoryCorps is an independently funded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your donation is tax deductible.
