On Tuesday, the White House sent Congress a rescission package that threatens StoryCorps’ federal funding—and our ability to share and preserve the everyday stories that unite us. Congress now has just 45 days to decide whether to preserve or eliminate nearly all federal support for public media, including the more than $2 million StoryCorps receives annually from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

For more than two decades, support from CPB — our largest single funder — has made the core of our work possible, powering our Military Voices Initiative, iconic Mobile Tour, weekly national broadcasts on NPR’s Morning Edition, and beloved animations featured on public television.

In a time when real connection feels rare and precious, StoryCorps reminds us that all of our stories matter equally and that we all deserve to become part of American history. Help us continue to collect, share, and preserve the wisdom of humanity. If StoryCorps has ever made you cry or laugh or see the world differently, now is the moment to act by making a donation.

We need your support to sustain this essential work.

People like you are now our most vital lifeline to ensure that we can continue to collect, share, and preserve the wisdom of humanity and the spirit of America at its finest.
