One Small Step is theme of Google Zeitgeist 2019
Watch as StoryCorps Founder Dave Isay talks through how the organization has created the largest single collection of human voices, preserved for generations to come, and presents examples of some of the remarkable stories that have been recorded over the years.
Google Zeitgeist is a private gathering held annually by Google leadership. The theme of Zeitgeist 2019 was One Small Step, in honor of StoryCorps’ effort to remind people across the political divides of our shared humanity. Speakers this year included Former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama, Former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Paul Ryan, Composer/Lyricist/Actor Lin Manuel Miranda, two-time World Cup Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Megan Rapinoe, among others.
Dave Isay is the founder of StoryCorps and the recipient of numerous broadcasting honors, including six Peabody Awards and a MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship. He is the author/editor of numerous books that grew out of his public radio documentary work. In 2015, Dave was recognized with the TED Prize, awarded annually to one exceptional individual with a creative, bold vision to spark global change.
