Production Intern

StoryCorps’ Production department is responsible for editing the full interviews into the short, cohesive “stories” that are broadcast on National Public Radio’s Morning Edition each Friday. The Production Intern will work closely with the StoryCorps production staff to identify stories for national broadcast and perform various administrative tasks to support the department.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:

  • Listen to and edit interviews from around the country using ProTools software.
  • Research and pitch story ideas for potential StoryCorps interviews.
  • Provide general support to the StoryCorps production team, including transcribing clips and taking meeting notes.
  • Complete other discreet projects as required.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal production intern is organized, resourceful, reliable, and passionate about the StoryCorps mission. Familiarity with digital audio editing software is highly preferred. Candidates with journalism (particularly radio journalism) education or experience are highly encouraged to apply.

This internship is an opportunity to hone your storytelling and audio editing skills and to contribute to a groundbreaking, award-winning, and important oral history and radio journalism project.
