Take One Small Step, Wichita – StoryCorps
Support storytelling that brings us together. Join today

“StoryCorps has brought One Small Step to Wichita as a test to see if courageous conversations can address cultural divisions. The ‘One Small Step’ model is a good place to start if you want a safe place to hold these conversations.”

-Damon Young, Wichita One Small Step Participant (The Wichita Eagle)

One Small Step is an effort to remind the country of the humanity in all us—even those with whom we disagree. The initiative brings strangers with different political views together to record a 50-minute conversation—not to debate politics, but to learn who we are as people.

Apply to be Matched in Wichita

Most of our interviews use StoryCorps’ virtual recording tools to facilitate conversations between strangers. Our priority is to match you with another member of your local community, but due to demand and availability, you may be matched with someone in a different city or region.
