TAKE ONE SMALL STEP, RICHMOND

“I think it’s important that people have conversations about their differing views— and get along despite them—so it’s cool that we get to do that with One Small Step.”

-Richmond One Small Step Participant

Richmond is one of four communities across the country to be chosen to lead this initiative—join us as we show the country what it means to have the courage to listen.

StoryCorps welcomes Richmonders to apply to be matched with fellow residents from across the political divide for conversations about their lives–not about politics. The conversation invites two people who don’t know each other—and may not think they have anything in common—to take a moment to discover their shared humanity.

Apply to be Matched in Richmond

Facilitated interview slots are limited. Once you complete your questionnaire you will be put into our queue to match you with a conversation partner. We appreciate your patience while we work on finding a match for as many applicants as possible.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are using StoryCorps’ virtual recording tools to facilitate conversations between people who are in different locations. You may be matched with someone in a different city or region, and the recording will take place virtually.
