10 Steps to Stay Involved in One Small Step

Help others learn about the value of engaging with someone who has different political beliefs by sharing your One Small Step experience with others on social media. Download a One Small Step graphic to share on social media:

Here is some language you can simply cut and paste into a post along with one of the graphic badges above:

I participated in One Small Step to help bring our community together—one conversation at a time. I wanted to understand another person’s life and what shapes their beliefs, and it was a great experience! Please consider joining this effort and have a conversation with someone who is different from you: takeonesmallstep.org

I recently participated in a conversation with someone who has different political views than me. It was a great experience and I learned that my conversation partner and I have more in common than what divides us. takeonesmallstep.org

I want to be part of the solution. That’s why I decided to participate in One Small Step. I had a conversation with someone who has different views than I do, and we were able to talk to each other about our lives and what shaped our beliefs. It was great! Consider signing up for a One Small Step conversation: takeonesmallstep.org

Amplify the experiences of others who have participated in One Small Step. Check out their stories and share them on your social media channels.

You will receive an email when your interview is ready to access on the StoryCorps Archive, typically 1-2 weeks after recording. Confer with your conversation partner and if you both agree, set your interview to “public” so others can see that it’s possible to have a civil dialogue across the political divide. Using the StoryCorps Archive link, you can share your interview. Learn more on our FAQ page, and if you need assistance claiming or sharing your interview, check out our Help Center.

Submit a testimonial about your One Small Step experience that we can share as part of our recruitment efforts.
