“You only live once. Why not hear a different perspective? Why not affirm what I believe: that we are more alike than different?”

-Fresno/Central Valley One Small Step Participant

The Fresno/Central Valley region is one of three communities across the country to be chosen to lead this initiative—join us as we show the country what it means to have the courage to listen.

StoryCorps welcomes Fresno/Central Valley residents to apply to be matched with fellow residents from across the political divide for conversations about their lives–not to debate politics. The conversation invites two people who don’t know each other—and may not think they have anything in common—to take a moment to discover their shared humanity.

Apply to be Matched in Fresno/Central Valley

Most of our interviews use StoryCorps’ virtual recording tools to facilitate conversations between strangers. Our priority is to match you with another member of your local community, but due to demand and availability, you may be matched with someone in a different city or region.
