Taffy and Clio Manuelian

Interview transcript

affy: I was born Muriel and they nicknamed me Taffy. And this is my darling, darling only-child. The best. I only needed one like her.

Clio: I am Clio Manuelian. And I’m interviewing my mom. What advice to you have to give me about being a parent?

Taffy: When I was a single parent, I had joint custody. And if I had that to do it over again, the way I think it really should be is I think the child should stay in one house, let the parents do the moving. I think that you were traumatized by this back and forth. I told you

Clio: It was terrible.

Taffy: It was terrible. I’m so sorry for you. And think that’s why you have trouble moving.

Clio: I do. I It is.

Taffy: Oh no! This is the saddest part of the whole thing!

Clio: This is that saddest part of your life.

Taffy: Now I got in touch with the saddest I knew it was terrible when I came home that day and I see you walking in the street with your girlfriend with our television in the shopping cart. I said, Clio, you cannot take the television like that out of the house.

You know but you had such a notion of being like on the road

Clio: Nomadic

Taffy: Yeah, nomadic.
