“If it were a sport, I'd win gold medals for it…”
From Malika Fyne Urban Assembly School for Law and Justice

My name’s Malika. I’m 14 years old. I’m from Jamaica. I live in East New York. It’s a nice neighborhood but in some parts it’s bad but in my neighborhood it’s nice so I feel comfortable there.

One thing people wouldn’t know about me is that I’m a major procrastinator. If it were a sport, I’d win gold medals for it because that’s how much I procrastinate.

My hopes and dreams for the future is that I will become a successful lawyer and be able to provide for myself and my family. One thing I’m good at outside of school is that I love to cook – cooking is good. I like cooking a lot. And that’s really it. Bye!

Interview conducted in Brooklyn, NY.
