Record Your Story

You can participate in the September 11th Initiative by making a reservation to record interviews wherever StoryCorps is located. Our trained staff with help you through every step of the reservation and recording process. Follow these 3 steps to get started:

Step 1: Make a reservation.

StoryCorps interviews are designed to be conversations between people who are part of each other’s lives. Your interview partner can be anyone with whom you feel comfortable, like a family member or friend. Should you choose to come alone, a trained Facilitator can interview you. Once you’ve decided who is coming to the interview, click on the location nearest you in the table below to make a reservation. (Remember to specify you would like to record your story as part of the September 11th Initiative to receive priority access to reservations.)

Read what to expect and visit our suggested questions list.

Step 3: Tell your story, pass it on.

When you arrive at your interview, a trained Facilitator will explain the process, make you feel comfortable, and sit with you during your 40 minutes session. At the end of your session, you’ll take home a free broadcast-quality CD. With your permission, a second copy will be archived at the Library of Congress.
