On February 7, 2007, we launched the GriotBooth – an Airstream trailer outfitted with a traveling recording studio – with a press conference in Washington, D.C. The Griot Tour ended on February 16, 2008 in Montgomery, Alabama. StoryCorps partnered with groups and organizations all over the country to record over 1,800 stories of African Americans across the country.
Read press from our year-long tour and follow the travels of the GriotBooth and its facilitators on the StoryCorps Griot blog.
