Thank you so much for your warmth and for bringing the StoryCorps booth to Denver. I am so deeply grateful for having the opportunity to share my love for and loss of my brother in conversation with my dear friend Kristen. Carson was a bright star that burned out too quickly, and we hope to keep his light going. StoryCorps is such a brilliant idea — everyone has a story to tell, and we can learn so much from listening.

Those who are bereaved by suicide often suffer in silence — by hearing stories like ours, people can know they are not alone, and that together — listening and supporting each other — we can make it through these dark nights of the soul. Thank you for letting us share. Suicide Awareness and Prevention Week is the second week in September — perhaps that might be a good time to share stories like ours.
