This horrific incident only solidifies my long-held belief of what a courageous and caring person Kate is. I've know Kate for years, and hope some day to meet her dear friend Lynda too. Both rose above the negativity that could have consumed them, emerged stronger, and yet continue work to help others despite it all. This crazy world is a much better place because of them. Thanks to you both for inspriing us and to StoryCorps for what you do. Jimmy

Lynda Rose acted, without hesitation, to assist a friend who was involved in a life threatening situation. I don't know too many people who would risk it all like that. You've secured a place in heaven Lynda. Way to go.

This is such an important story to share. I remember hearing it said that courage is stepping in to help when you know it might mean your life on the line as well. Thank you, StoryCorps.

Kate and Lynda are my heroes. They embody all that is good in theor
profession and have had to overcome tremendous obstacles to get
back to a so-called "normal" life following this traumatic and life changing
experience together. Thanks to Story Corps for their vision. I'm so glad
they shared this. With much love, Greg.
