Thank you, Nashville!

On September 13, 2008, StoryCorps Facilitators Martha O’Brien, Kate Wingate, and Cindy Murphy recorded and archived their final interview at the Nashville StoryBooth.

Located in the Nashville Public Library‘s Banner Room, the Nashville StoryBooth has recorded nearly 500 interviews since opening in September 2007. In addition to archival at the Library of Congress, each of these interviews will also be accessible in a local archive at the Nashville Public Library.

StoryCorps would like to thank the following local sponsors for making the Nashville StoryBooth possible this year: Nashville Public Library Foundation, Bridgestone Firestone Trust Fund, Ann Patchett, Irene and Ridley Wills, and of course, the Nashville Public Library.

    Thank you all, Martha, Esi, Cindy and Kate for facilitating great stories in Nashville. I was hoping last year to have a D2D in Nashville so that I could visit with you all, but it didn’t happen.

    Thank you StoryCorps, Thank you Jim, Cindy, Kate, Ms. Martha and all those who made Nashville’s story booth possible! It meant so much to our family… more than even i know how to express with words… I will miss knowing that the StoryCorps booth is there but am nonetheless grateful for the opportunity and the time that we had it here in our city!     Hands down, one of the most incredible experiences of my life! I have never cried or laughed as hard as I did in that booth. A wonderful concept: an opportunity to work with angels, and life changing participants whom I cannot and will not ever forget…
