Luis Gallo was born in Cali, Colombia, and lived most of his childhood in cities across Colombia. He later settled in Seattle, WA and considers the city his second hometown. He holds a Bachelor's degree in geography from the University of Washington and is completing a Masters degree in urban planning at Hunter College. His nomadic upbringing has also taken him to study in Florence, Italy, write his senior thesis in Mexico City, work as a freelance journalist in Istanbul, and finally settle down in Brooklyn. He likes interacting with the city on his bicycle and loves reinventing recipes in the kitchen, although he has given up trying to recreate his favorite dish: an entomatada he had in a small beachside town on the Oaxacan coast.
