Cindy Murphy spent her first eighteen years of life in Monett, Missouri (pop. 7,396). After receiving bachelor degrees in English and Spanish from the University of Arkansas, she worked for two years as a Spanish translator with the Migrant Education Program. Cindy has lived and traveled in southern Spain, Guatemala, and Mexico. She recently graduated from the University of Oregon with an MFA in creative writing.
