Anaid Reyes was born in Mexico City and grew up in sunny San Diego, CA. She moved from the West Coast to the East Coast to attend Amherst College where she studied history and Latino studies and focused on social movements. Prior to finding her way to StoryCorps, Anaid worked as an organizer for the Hotel Worker's Union in San Diego and then made her way to Houston to work for a tutoring company servicing low-income students in failing schools. Anaid has always been on the move and is looking forward to life on the road as a mobile facilitator.
