StoryBooth Intern

StoryCorps operates permanent and multi-year recording booths in cities across the country (currently in New York City and at the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco, CA). These StoryBooths serve to collect interviews and also offer additional services and host public events in their community.

The StoryBooth Intern assists the StoryBooth Site Supervisors with the day-to-day operation of these programs, and assists the StoryBooth Manager in building new StoryBooth partnerships.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include but will not be limited to:

  • Prepare and send materials to new StoryBooth partners.
  • Research and contact potential outreach partners at StoryBooth locations.
  • Collect feedback from StoryBooth partners.
  • Assist in planning special events at our StoryBooth locations.
  • Make calls to participants at our StoryBooth locations to remind them of the appointment and answer questions as needed.
  • Assist the New York City Site Supervisor in processing interview material collected at the StoryBooth.
  • Take the lead in developing and maintaining department communication tools.

Ideal Candidate

  • Solid communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills; pleasant and professional phone manner.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Facility with Mac computers and Microsoft Excel preferrred.
  • Experience and/or interest working with diverse populations.
  • Experience planning activites desired.
